We're Ditching These 5 Outdated Nutrition Rules with mindbodygreen

I'm so excited to share that I recently wrote an article for mindbodygreen about why it's time to let go of a few outdated nutrition rules.

Every day we're bombarded with advice about the "right" way to eat. Skip breakfast. Eat more protein. Avoid carbs. Never eat before bed. Drink a gallon of water. Somewhere along the way, simple nutrition became a long list of rules—and for many women, those rules leave us feeling more exhausted than energized.

In the article, I explore why it's time to rethink some of the most common nutrition advice we hear. I share why breakfast is still one of my favorite meals of the day, why protein shouldn't crowd out carbohydrates and healthy fats, and why going to bed hungry isn't always the healthiest choice—especially if you're active or training. I also make the case for giving carbohydrates the comeback they deserve and explain why staying hydrated is about more than just carrying around the biggest water bottle you can find.

My hope is that this article gives you permission to stop chasing nutrition trends and start trusting the simple habits that actually help you feel your best: eating enough, cooking more at home, and enjoying delicious food that fuels your life.

I'd love for you to read the full article over on mindbodygreen, where I dive deeper into each of these topics and share the practical ways I approach nourishing myself and my family.
